Influenced by thoughts of discord and distortion, these works attempts to strike an awkward harmony within a heavily painted surfaces. Using elements of action painting and lineal draftsmanship, each composition is saturated, overflowing with paint and form. Built up with multiple layers of oil paint thinned to a watercolour consistency, the unpredictability of dripped paint adds a gestural quality without the considered movement of a brush. Seemingly random runs of colour are interwoven with regimented mechanical lines and shapes. Other areas are withdrawn from the foreground and subdued by veil like washes of white paint, while the dominating shapes are raised off the surface with texture gels further channeling the flow of the dripped paint.
